New York Real Estate Continuing Education

Course Description

New York State requires every licensed real estate salesperson and broker to complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education during each two-year license term. REEDU’s CE package covers all six mandated topics and the electives you need to reach the full 22.5 hours, in one enrollment.

Everything is online and self-paced. There is no live session to attend, no webcam, and no fixed schedule. Start at any hour, stop when you need to, and pick up where you left off. You receive a certificate for each course you complete, and your hours are reported to the Department of State.

Courses are approved by the New York Department of State. Once your hours are complete, you file your renewal through your own eAccessNY account.

What New York Requires

All 22.5 hours must be completed before your license expires. New York does not allow carryover credit, so hours earned beyond the requirement do not roll into your next term. Of the 22.5 hours, 11.5 are fixed to specific mandated topics and the remaining 11 are electives you choose.

How to Get a Real Estate License in New York

To be eligible to get a real estate license, you must be at least 18 years old, have no felony convictions (some exceptions apply), and have US citizenship or be a legal or permanent resident. Prepare a valid Photo ID. No previous sales experience or educational attainment required.
